10 Harsh Truths Everyone Should Accept in Life
Life sometimes seems to have no meaning, yet it’s the best teacher.
Every lousy experience and situation that we face has some hidden lesson to it. I believe in the fact that what we give out, in terms of energy, intentions, and feelings, we attract the same (the law of cause and effect is always in action). I strongly believe in this.
some people learn lessons the hard way, they fall into the trap of repeating the same mistakes over and over again. That’s certainly not the best way to live.
Here are 10 harsh truths that will help you improve your life. so let’s dive in —
The clock is ticking
We’re here for a limited time on this planet. no matter what you do, the clock is ticking for all of us. we are heading straight to our graves. This is hard to accept because as of now you’re doing good, you’re young and free from any disease. Reminding yourself of the fact that we are not here forever will help you live more consciously prioritizing what’s important to you and what’s not.
You can’t please everyone —
Everyone is different and unique in their own way. no matter where you’re, and what you do. there’ll be someone who will disagree with you. which is okay. The sooner you accept this the better it is to fare in life.
There is no shortcut to success —
Success is not a goal to be achieved as most people think of it, imagining themselves driving luxurious cars and having big bungalows. though everybody’s definition of success is different. but the truth is you have to live a committed and boring life for years before you even come close to the point where you call yourself successful.
“Don’t worry about being successful, but work towards being significant and the success with naturally follow you.” — Oprah Winfrey
Your status affects your social and personal connections
Sadly, your status and your account balance impact your social connections more than your kind heart. when you’re at your lowest you’ll find many so-called friends, and relatives exiting your life. you can test this for yourself. many will pretend as if they don’t know you. It sounds harsh but it’s true my friend.
Nobody is coming to save you —
Only you can pull yourself out of the darkness and make something out of this life. Remember this life is 100% your responsibility nobody is coming to save you. Not your friends, and after a certain age not even your parents, nobody can change anything in your life. It’s totally up to you my friend. where you want to take this life.
Your health is your biggest asset —
I know I keep repeating this. but I can't emphasize enough on this, Take care of your body and mind. The truth is early on in life, when we’re in fairly good condition we tend to take our health for granted. we eat whatever we want, and sleep whenever we want to. Don’t ignore your health at any cost.
“We sacrifice our health in order to make wealth, then we sacrifice our wealth in order to get back our health.” — Dalai Lama
Life is not a race
You’re not ahead or behind anyone. Everybody’s life is unique and different. everyone has their own timing. there is no timeline for anything. you have the right to do everything and anything at your own pace. trust me you would do just fine. don’t be in a hurry.
Don't set unrealistic expectations
Expectations in any relationship hurt, try to keep them as realistic and minimal as possible to live a happy and content life. people have all sorts of imagination going on in their heads. may it be regarding looks or lifestyle. thanks to the internet.
Love yourself before you love anyone else
Your mind is your best friend and your worst enemy. , how you train your mind decides the quality of your life. have your cup full, before you share this life with anyone.
Have a growth mindset and not a fixed mindset
Learn from your mistakes, and deal with failures, rejection, and criticism in a healthy manner. it’s not how many times you fall, it’s about gathering the courage to stand up once again. your commitment to things will make you irreplaceable. and your hard work will make you invincible.
Life will never happen 100%your ways. There will be days when you’ll feel like giving up. we are all here to learn our share of lessons and evolve with time. life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. There’s no one person, I repeat no one on this planet who is free from suffering and problems. your attitude towards the difficulties will decide the quality of your life. face the challenge, learn the lesson associated with it, and move on.
“You become what you believe, You are where you’re today in your life based on everything you have believed.” — Oprah Winfrey
