Life seemed so much simpler when we were kids. Don’t you think?

Have you ever noticed the happiness ratio going down as we are all growing up? what happened to our bright charming faces? Growing up surely has its own price. Often, our negative and toxic mindset weighs us down and becomes the foremost reason for our unhappiness.

Well, we are all chasing happiness shifting from one thing to another. It sometimes seems like a mirage, oh! so close but the more you try to chase it, the more it runs away. we are finding happiness in all sorts of things. But are we really happy?

4 things that make your life miserable.

1. Comparing yourself to others

In this digital world, it’s really hard to not compare yourself to others. I am sure you must have read this somewhere else as well. on social media, you see what they want to show you, AKA the highlight.

Nobody knows the behind-the-scenes story. so basically you come to the conclusion that their life is far more exciting and fun.

You go all over the place and start cribbing about how bad and boring your life is. It’s stupidity to compare yourself to others not only on social media but in life as well. Everybody is different, and unique in their own way. you have your own special talents go explore them, work on them and live your life to the fullest. It’s one secret to living a happy and fulfilling life.

2. Treating your body like shit

I am just repeating what you probably already know. Stop treating your body like shit. Aim for good health. Eat clean. Get yourself moving. Hydrate yourself. Just stick to basics nothing fancy. No, costly gym memberships. or protein shakes.

Do some hits and trials to see what suits you and your schedule best. Go for it, and follow it consistently. your physical self is directly related to your mind.

3. The Negative Self Talk

This thing really changed my life.

By saying statements like I am not good enough. I am not good at this. I always ruin things you’re subconsciously planting these thoughts in your mind. or indirectly making your own set of beliefs. and these beliefs turn into reality over time.

Practicing gratitude and affirmations is a great way to start your day & cut the negative self-talk. Love and pamper yourself as you would do to the other person you love the most.

4. Always Complaining

Some people have a habit of complaining about anything and everything. According to them, everyone is wrong. They whine about govt, politics, social issues, and global issues. You always have two options change what you can or accept it the way it is to come out of this vicious cycle of complaining.

“Complaining is one of the ego’s favorite strategies for strengthening itself” — Eckhart Tolle

To improve the quality of your life, start taking responsibility for your actions, and your life. Shift the mindset from always complaining to finding opportunities to learn and grow.

Key takeaway

Don’t run behind only material to find happiness, you’ll fail miserably. Find the root cause and work on it, work on yourself. Look within and you may succeed.

“This universe is not outside of you. Look inside yourself, everything that you want, you already are”. — Rumi
