It’s amazing how a small shift in attitude can bring a huge difference in one’s life. “The mind is everything, what you think, you become.” It is so true. Mindset is a critical component of success in every walk of life.

Everyone is conditioned in one way or the other.

Conditioning is the background of a human being. That shapes our thinking, controls our reactions and responses, and our way of behavior, conduct, the way we eat and think and feel and react, and all that.

Mindset shifts that can change your life

  1. Self-reflection

Taking the time out and reflecting on the things you do and why you do is so important. In simple terms, analyze yourself, your behavior, desires, thoughts, attitude, and motivation. It’s the process of diving deep into your thoughts and emotions and finding the why.

For eg- what triggers your anger, what do you think about when alone, and is it mostly positive or negative? analyze the patterns, work on them and then break the chains of bad habits. self-reflection is hard to practice in this world of chaos. But, immensely helpful in knowing the trajectory of your life, and which direction you're headed.

“The unexamined life is not worth living.” — Socrates

2. Shift from a scarcity mindset to an abundant mindset

Being content with what you have in abundance. shifting the focus from I don't have enough to I have enough. I am not saying you should not aspire to dream big. You definitely should, but always looking at others and continuously benchmarking yourself will suck the happiness out of your life.

Contentment and abundance are life skills most people lack. A billionaire would want to earn another billion dollars. it's not enough for him. you will never have enough, actually, nobody will. There is simply no end to greed and desire.

“He who is not contented with what he has, would not be contented with what he would like to have”.— Socrates

3. Shift from compulsiveness to consciousness

Any action taken out of compulsiveness is unconscious, sometimes even if you don’t want to do it either but that pattern is so deeply ingrained in your system that your mind doesn't think much before taking an action. Compulsiveness is the ultimate slavery. what distinguishes humans and animals is the possibility to move from compulsiveness to consciousness.

Most of us do stuff out of compulsion. There are compulsions at many different levels of the being. Meditation is one of the ways to attain a certain level of awareness. Being a little conscious and aware can work wonders. It can completely change your life.
